Karnataka State budget 2006 - 30 films will get subsidy

Entire film industry was eager to know about the State Budget 2006 that is announced today. Since the CM himself is a film man, it was an obvious curiosity and people were hoping to see positive move by the government.

As per the new budget, 30 'quality films' will receive government subsidy of Rs. 10 lakh each from this year. It was 20 films till last year. Another advancement comes in the form of recognition to film technicians. Earlier film actors were getting higher cash award than technicians and it will be equaled from this year. Will the industry be happy with Mr. CM's move? The wish list never ends however!
