Rajyotsava Awards announced
 Rajyotsava
Awards for the year 2002 were announced
yesterday by Kannada and Culture minister Rani Satish.
Swarna
Kamal award winner, director Girish Kasaravalli, actor, producer
M.P.Shanker, film producer K.C.N. Gowda, singer and theater
artist B.Jayashri, and actor, dancer Sridhar, are the people
receiving Rajyotsava Award in the field of films, theater
and dance category among the 56 people from various fields.
 Announcing
this list on Tuesday evening minister Rani Satish said "there
were more than 1000 nominations. We have even considered other
people and institutes who served in various other areas for
this award". This award including a 20 gram gold medal will
be presented on November 1st at Ravindra Kalakshetra (Bangalore)
in the evening at 6.30 p.m.
