this week - Gokarna & Swathi
Mutthu
Two
high expectation films are releasing this week - Swathi
Mutthu of Sudeep and Gokarna of Uepndra. Both are
remake films of superhit films.
 Gokarna
is remake of Tamil hit Annamalai. After Kutumba Upendra is
once again acting in similar role. Naganna has directed the
film while Sudhendra, brother of Upendra has produced it under
the banner of Anegudda Vinayaka Productions. Gurukiran has
scored the music. Heroine is Rakshita. S. Ramesh, the President
of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce has acted in the film
for the first time. Madhu Bangarappa of Akash Audio has a
special role in Gokarna. Thriller Manju is the stunt master
while K. Nanjundi has written the dialogue. Krishnakumar is
the cinematographer. Upendra and Kaviraj penned the lyrics.
Telugu version of this film Kondapalli Raja was a successful
film. So the expectation on this Kannada version Gokarna too
is high.
Swathi Mutthu
of Sudeep
 Sudeep's
home production film Swathi Mutthu, which is again a remake
is releasing this week. Is a remake of Kamal Hassan and Radhika
starrer Telugu hit Swathi Muthyam. Hindi version of Swathi
Muthyam was Ishwar having Anil Kapoor in the lead. As he could
not reach the level of Kamal's performance that film failed
in the box office. Obviously Sudeep's acting in Swathi Mutthu
will also be compared with its original film. So Sudeep has
to be better or in par with Kamal Hassan to win. According
to Sudeep, he is not competing with anyone but adapted his
own style. D. Rajendra Babu has directed the film. Sarovar
Sanjeev, father of Sudeep is the producer.
Today, December 24th is Sudeep's mother's birthday and Swathi
Mutthu will be the birthday gift from Sudeep he said in an
earlier press meet. H. Ramachandra is the cinematographer
and Rajesh Ramnath has scored the music for Swathi Mutthu.
Meena is the heroine. Kishan, Pavithra Lokesh, Leelavathi,
Lokesh, Doddanna, Srinivas Murthy, Pramila Joshai, Ramakrishna,
Srilalitha etc are among the cast.
