AR RAHMAN before ROJA composed music for a kannada film. The film was DANCE RAJA DANCE acted by Vinod Raj. Actually if u see in the title card, some music director called VIJAY ANAND's name is there. But a year ago, the film's producer and director DWAARAKEESH revealed in a function that actually, it was AR RAHMAN who almost composed the music fully. But he was not present on the recording day. He also told that the whole all the songs were composed by ARR but he did not have the name and support so he indirectly composed music for many these kind of Music directors. He had the talent but he could not get the name. dwaarakeesh told ARR that he will give him a chance in his next film. But surprisingly, before dwaarakeesh's next film cud have been started ROJA was released and he became hit and ARR was out of reach of Dwaarakeesh.

 great 2 know abt ARR composition of song in kannada.actually gagan many talented first appeared in kannada ind . but later jumped 2 others. ex. even Anilkapoor. he didn't rooted in kannada ind but he gained name & fame in bollywood .but now there is no much more chances for kannada heroin in kannada ind. they r all flying over 2 those ind where they get oppurtunities.is it fair ???????

yes mairy what u say is right. here "kaalu yeLeyuva mandi jaasti iddaare" .they dont let others to grow. u may not be knowing that anil kapoor acted in PALLAVI ANU PALLAVI was directed by the great director of INDIA,,Mani Rathnam Sir. this was his fist film in kannda. many kannada talents hav gone to many other languages without chance.

thanks gagan.hope our director/producers & v wud give full support to the tallented one instead of pulling thier legs.first of all their should b understanding, co-operation & supporting nature in our industry.

Cycle Kalla : Well said. Gagan takes it personally when all I am trying to do is get him and some other low-self esteemed and inferiority complexed people out of their rut. It is so slave like for him to call every madrasi "sir", "great", Maestro" and so on.
I understand some people like/admire others. But do you need to be such an ass-kissing slave ? Whar's happened to Kananda people ?? Such low self-esteem and such slavish devotion to madrasi/telgu trash !

yes for me mani rathnam is great... whats wrong in it??? I respect me teacher and call him sir, the same way i respect mani rathnam. here language doesnt come between. The message mani rathnam gave in BOMBAY is a universal message of brotherhood, and it crosses the border called language and religion. And i dont call madrasis as great and so on.... even i consider music director GURUKIRAN as great and call him as my GURU. even praised Nagathihalli chandrashekhar, old music directors like VIJAYBHASKAR, G K VENKATESH.... and many others. if mani rathnam does anything which goes against kannada then i will condemn him first. but mani rathnam is a great director according to me. I dont tell that there are no good directors in kannada... there was kanagaal puttanna, and now nagaabharana is there, and our GIREESH KASARAVALLI is there who took our films to national and international festivals. And you ask any music lover, he will tell u that ialayaraaja is really great. Do u know that ilayaraaja has really got the title MAESTRO. even today, carnatic music learners are made to learn KRITHIS of TYAAGARAAJA and MUTTAYYA BHAAGAVATAR. they were not from karnataka but they are great.
