Ambi and Darshan to act in remake of Dalapathi

Ambarish, Darshan and Sumalatha. (Mrs Darshan in the background)'Dalapathi' - a super hit Tamil film of nineties is being remade in Kannada having actor turned politician rebel star Ambarish and Darshan Toogudeep in the lead roles. Muhurath of this film (yet to be named) was held on last Thursday. Ambarish who was away from silver screen for more than two years is making his entry again is one of the highlights of this film. After 'Devara Maga', this is the second film of Ambi-Darshan combination. He will play the role played by Mummatti in Dalapathi and Darshan will do that of Rajanikanth. Director turned actor Om Prakash Rao will direct this film produced by M.C. Dayanand who is with film industry since 1987. Selection of heroine is yet to be done.

Talks with Ambarish after the launch went from Cine Expo 2003 to parliament sessions. He said, he is not aware of any loss incurred by the month long Cine Expo that was started on April 18th till May 18th organized to raise fund for the new building of Karnataka Film Chambers of Commerce. "I think, this was done in a hurry without proper preparation. Performance by people like Hemamalini etc were over much before people could know about the Expo" he said. When it comes to politics, he feels he can manage both acting and political life without any discrimination.
Dayanand, Om Prakash Rao and Ambarish"There is nothing much for me to do in politics. I can spend five days for film and two days for politics. In the last parliament session out of 14 days, actual session happened only on two days. I have told the producer that I will act only if they adjust their schedules accordingly" says the MP.

Darshan was a silent listener while the rebel star was on top gear talking to the media. Later blushing Darshan gave answers through smiles when asked about his married life and honeymoon. Mrs. Darshan too was present at the function with his mother. Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Punit Rajkumar were present at the function too. Sumalatha Ambarish, Ravi Belegere, Srinivas Murthy etc are among the cast.
