Don
film review
 Shivarajkumar
once again steps back to action movie of his typical style
(like Om, AK 47 etc). This film is totally different from
his recent successful film Tavarige Baa Tangi. Story
by P.N. Satya is not something new nor different but
he gave very strong dialogues, which blends well with Shivaraj's
acting and expressions.
Surya (Shivarajkumar) is a criminal lawyer trained
by a famous lawyer Ramaswamy Iyenger (Avinash). He
wins the criminal cases for underworld dons and brings them
out of jail. The only intention of Surya in bringing them
out is to kill those dons when law fails to funish them. As
he is a criminal lawyer he kills many such dons like Byadarahalli
Ramappa, Cat Manja, Mari Gudi, Layout Manja without leaving
behind any clues. In the mean while differences arises between
Surya and his senior Ramaswamy. Using this situation CBI officer
Jhansi alias Kaveri (Meghana Naidu) plans to
trap Surya. In that plan Surya kills Ramaswamy and sent behind
the bars. With the help of a police officer (Jaijagadish)
he comes out of the jail. When Jhansi comes to know about
the actual facts of Surya's childhood she falls in love with
Surya. In his childhood, an underworld don Sadhu Shetty
(Rajan P Dev) and his associate kills Surya's father, a sincere
police officer (Ashok). But Surya was anable to punish
them through law due to lack of evidence and he was still
a small boy.
When the chief minister comes to know about the mission of
Surya, he supports him and assigns him to kill Sadhu Shetty
a criminal who was troubling the government. Film ends with
the completion of his mission.
Shivarajkumar's performance is excellent. Meghana looks pretty.
Upcoming actress Ruchitaprasad entertains in an 'item'
dance. Music by Sadhukokila was anticipated highly
with good expectations as this is his 100th film. But these
expectations are not met fully.
We can see the influence of recent stamp paper racket in the
story. As usual Avinash's performance is good. Dattanna, Rajan
P. Dev, Jai Jagadish and Ashok did justice to their roles.
Film Don is a must see movie for Shivanna's fans.
