Thavarige Baa Thangi Film Review

Shivrajkumar By looking at the title itself, probably everybody could guess the story of the film. If this was released about ten years back this would have been a super hit movie.

Thavarige Baa Thanagi is all about a sentimental relationship between a brother Shivanna(Shivrajkumar) and a sister Lakshmi(Radhika) who become orphan after their mother falls from ladder and dies. Shivanna takes good care of his sister. The story takes a turn when Lakshmi wants to marry Akash(Adarash). After marriage Lakshmi goes to her in-law's house with the hope of leading a happy marriage life. But there she becomes an unwanted thing and her mother-in-law, sister-in-law and brother-in-law starts to torture her. They are upset that Akash did not marry the girl they had chosen for him. They also made Akash's mind to believe that his wife is unfaithful to him. Akash also starts harassing his wife. In the meantime Shivanna marries Gouri (Anu Prabhakar). But they keeps worrying about Lakshmi. Gouri is killed by a rowdy. When Shivanna was in that tension a pregnant Lakshni's in-laws torture her very badly and she dies after delivering a child. Later when Shivanna comes to know the incident brings the baby back home.

Shirarajkumar after quite some time appearing in a different role and managed to make people weep. Too many dramatic scenes in the film tortures the audience a lot. Ladies sentiment film forces to use hankies. Music by Hamsalekha is good. Performance of Hema Choudhary, Sarika Raje and Avinash in negative role is good.
