Ramya and Sunil in film Excuse Me
  Three films celebrating 100 days

Amrutha and Darshan in film Dasa2004 March turned out to be a good month of the year for Kannada film industry. Three films celebrated successful 100 days last week. Surprisingly all three films are of contrast in nature - Excuse Me of Prem, Renuka Devi of Nagendra Magadi and Dasa of P.N. Satya. Excuse Me produced by M.N. Suresh is the film revolving around love story while Renuka Devi is a mythological film produced by Jayashree Devi that marked a great success in Northern Karnataka. Branded for violent movies Darshan starrer Dasa produced by young producer Ramesh Yadav too has completed 100 days.

Khaki staring Shivamani and Devraj was the film released along with Dasa while Sudeep starrer Partha and Dreams having almost the same cast group of 'Friends' were the films that hit the screens during the week when Renuka Devi was released. This is a clear indication of change in likings of film viewers. Any filmmaker has to think twice before venturing into a movie with this development. Many films made by big banners are smashed to ground and so are the films of saleable stars!

All three films are milestones for its directors and artists. Excuse Me is a consecutive second century for actor Sunil Rao after Preethi Prema Pranaya and so is for director Prem. Actress Ramya too has scored double century through Excuse Me after Abhi. Director Nagendra Magadi went a step ahead with hat trick - Grama Devate, then Olu Saar Bari Olu and now Reneka Devi.
Master. Tejas & Master Sreyas in Renuka DeviIs sure a safe bet for any producers now! Dasa is a good comeback for actor Darshan. Despite of receiving rave reviews and appreciations, his earlier movie Namma Preethiya Ramu bombed in the box office and the break he needed came his way through Dasa. Looks like people want to see Darshan only with blood soaked knife!

Though these films hit the hundred's mark, it wasn't a smooth sailing for all says N.M. Suresh - the producer of Excuse Me. For this debutant producer, film land was a new world and has to face many hurdles and battles. He has spent heavily on publicity to make his production a hit film. As a result, even after hundred days, his movie Excuse Me is going strong at the eminent theater Kapali! Sharing his experiences with us Suresh said screening of his movie was discontinued from some theaters despite of good collection - all part of the game.

We at viggy.com congratulate all of them for their success.
