Dharma - new Kannada film by Darshan Toogudeep

Darshan Toogudeep's new film Dhrama hit the floors on Friday. Darshan now gets a new title - 'Challenging hero'. This is his 14th film. M.G. Rammurthy, the producer of film Majestic is producing Dharma. After Majestic and Kariya, actor Darshan was branded for rough and tough roles. In between he acted in Laali Haadu - a music oriented family sentiment film, but this showed an average performance in the box office. Darshan appeared again in action roles in film Dasa and Dharshan due for release. In yet another film releasing soon 'Namma Preethiya Ramu' where he plays the role of a blind is a high expectation too. His new film Dharma has both contrast sides - harsh and soft faces.

In Dharma Sindu Menon and a new heroine Monisha are playing against Darshan. Dharma is fourth Kannada film for Sindhu Menon. She plays a bold character here where most of her earlier films showed her as a soft natured girl. For Monisha who is from Tamil filmdom is Kannada debut. Jennifer was called as Nandita by Tamil film industry and now in Kannada she became Monisha. She acted in 9 Tamil films so far. Producer Rammurthy is introducing K.V. Chandranath to Kannada film industry as a director. Chandranath who was working with P. Sindhu Menon

Vasu as assistant director is directing Dharma with story and screenplay. He compares the lead character of Dharma with Valmeeky. How an uncultured mugger turns into a great writer of Ramayan is reflected in this film too. The hero of the film basically a rowdy with swords turns into a poet at the end is how the story is nested conveying love is mightier than the sword…

Hamsalekha will score the music with lyrics and Sundarnath Suvarna will handle the camera. Shooting has been scheduled for a single stretch of 40 days after Diwali. Director is planning to shoot the film in Mysore, Bangalore, Ooty and Goa.
