RajanandRajanad a well-known actor, theaterist Rajanad passed away yesterday, August 25th at his native Mysore. He was 76. From last few years he was not acting in films due to ill health. He acted in more than 200 films in supporting roles. Though he served the glamour world for more than 50 years, his personal life remained pale. His theater life started when he was 18 and then moved to film world. Rajanand who continued his film professional as a supporting actor got diabetes when the world stared looking good for him. He wrote several 'vachanas', poems and drams. Actress Umashri came forward to publish them so that the writer can be benefited a little.

'Dhana Pishachi' was his first ever Kannada film while he secured his place of supporting roles after impressive performance in 'Ranga Nayaki'. He has written 232 dramas, 9000 vachanas and 3000 poems. In 1992 he was honored with Karnataka State Award and in 2002 he recived the Life Achievement award.
