Senior actor Rajanand is no more
Rajanad
a well-known actor, theaterist Rajanad passed away yesterday,
August 25th at his native Mysore. He was 76. From last few
years he was not acting in films due to ill health. He acted
in more than 200 films in supporting roles. Though he served
the glamour world for more than 50 years, his personal life
remained pale. His theater life started when he was 18
and then moved to film world. Rajanand who continued his film professional
as a supporting actor got diabetes when the world stared looking
good for him. He literally witnessed living hell. He lost
his eyesight and leg because of his severe health condition. Entire
Kannada film industry knew about it but it was actor Vajramuni
who came to his help and got an eye operated. After getting
his rebirth, Rajanand involved himself in writing. He wrote
several 'vachanas', poems and drams. Actress Umashri came
forward to publish them so that the writer can be benefited
a little.
'Dhana Pishachi' was his first ever Kannada film while he secured his place of supporting roles after impressive performance in 'Ranga Nayaki'. He has written 232 dramas, 9000 vachanas and 3000 poems. In 1992 he was honored with Karnataka State Award and in 2002 he recived the Life Achievement award.
