It is a very sad day indeed for all the Kannadigas all over
the world. We got the bad news last night and my husband literally
broke down. We have seen almost all of Dr. Rajkumar's movies
that were released before early 80s when we moved to USA. Today
my husband took off from work since he was not in a mood to
work. We brought Bangaradha Manushya and Kasturi Nivasa from
the Indian store and watched the great acting of our favorite
actor.
May god give the peace for the departed soul and strength to
his family members to bear this loss.

No matter how much you are prepared for, it is always shocking
when it finally happens... The world's most multi-talented/faceted
performer is gone.
Like it is for millions others this is a very, very sad day
for me; all the more telling given that I never met this man
and only knew him mostly through VHS tapes and songs. Could
not work and had to leave.
But what a great life!!! Humble beginnings to mega star (the
real type) status with no pretensions. That alone should be
a lesson to all Indians - that we can make what we want with
our lives by sheer will and dedication; instead of blaming and
wallowing in self pity.
May his soul rest in peace and condolences to his family.

This was a rude shock for me early in the morning. We have lost
a family member. I can do nothing but wipe off the tears of
my eyes... I loved him so much, and the pain of losing him is
unexplainable than what I had when my cousin [very close to
me] left us at the age of 20. I have grown watching his movies...
adapting many things in life seeing him.... for me Kannada/cinema
meant Raj and Raj meant Kannada/cinema... He was a synonym for
Kannada, culture, simplicity and gentleness. WE MISS HIM BADLY....
this is irreplaceable damage...

Bangalore… I'm breathless and speechless with out our Devaru
- Annavru. I could not work the whole day in office, I was weeping
whole the day! And the all client asking all about what happened
and was surprised to know about such a great personality and
clients asked me some of his movie names, I was proud to talk
my Annavru - Dr.Raj.
We love you Dr. Raj… You are with us always with your tremendous
208 movies… Its a black day in my life, we miss you.

Dr Rajkumar left us for a heavenly abode yesterday. He was a
Legend, living God of Kannada classes and masses. It seems like
the end of a Golden era in Kannada film Industry... He was a
true 'Raja' of Kannada minds and hearts...
After I heard the news, I have not been able to work even in
the faraway Chennai and have been repeatedly seeing clips of
Raj movies and the funeral arrangement scenes being aired.
