'Rishi' - new Kannada cinema by Prakash of 'Khushi' fame having Shivarajkumar in the lead

Can someone new to film industry survive the battle? The statistical figures of Kannada film Kushi says 'yes'! When this new producer-director Prakash announced the release of his debut venture Kushi, Gandhinagar laughed at him. Because, two high expectation films 'Chigurida Kanasu' of Shivarajkumar and 'Hrudayavantha' of Vishnuvardhan were scheduled on the same date. So the obvious reaction to Prakash

Kushi was that the film is going to bomb. But it turned around everyone's prediction by completing 100 days! It also proved that even college crowds watch Kannada movies! The director who knows the pulse of younger generation is venturing into a perfect family drama this time - meaning, its not just for the youth but for the entire family. This new film 'Rishi' was launched on last Sunday.

Title 'Rishi' is derived from Rishikesh, the name of the hero says director Prakash. This film has very sensational sequences he added. It is his cousins Shivarajkumar and Vijay Raghavendra who will be playing the roles of a serious businessman and college going boy respectively. Its not going to be college campus or business meetings throughout but deals with the situations of a rigid young boy interacting with a matured businessman. Its Sindhu Tolani who is pairing Shivarajkumar while Radika plays against Vijay Raghavendra. The hit pair of 'Ninagagi' is coming back on screen once again.

He himself is designing costumes! This new Kannada venture that has music by Gurukiran is expected to be ready by November this year. Rishi will have Avinash, Sumitra, Doddanna, Reka Das etc in supporting roles.
