Rowdy Aliya - new film of Shivrajkumar, directed by Saiprakash

Kannada film industry is proving that it is running behind the success by filming based on successful theme or title. A few years back director Saiprakash gave a hit film `Gadibidi Aliya' having Shivrajkumar and Jayamala in the lead roles. Now the same combination is giving a new film with similar title 'Rowdy Aliya'. Muhurath of this film was held at Bangalore Palace Ground on Friday morning. Dr. Rajkumar, Parvathamma Rajkumar, Geetha (Shivarjkumar's wife), Sudeep, Basanthkumar Patil were present at the function. Smt. Parvathamma switched on the camera while Dr. Raj clapped for the first scene where the hero gets down from a micro light who returns from London. This plan was specially brought for this shooting.

Rowdy Aliya is the fourth film of Shivrajkumar and Saiprakash combination after Gadibidi Aliya, Gadibidi Krishna and the recent hit film Thavarige Baa Thangi. Priyanka of H2O fame plays the heroine role. Specialty of this film comes in the form of actress Jayamala who plays similar role what she has played in Gadibidi Aliya. She was away from acting after winning special jury award in national level for her astonishing performance in 'Thayi Saheba'. In Gadibidi Aliya, hers was a glamorous mother-in-law role. like Thavarige Baa Thangi, Thayi Illada Thabbali is directing this comedy based, music oriented commercial film. As he says he doesn't like political films, double meaning and action themes. And that is why he has directed comedy films, sentiment films and devotional films so far. Rowdy Aliya is his 55th film where he wears various hats of direction, story and screenplay. Heroine of this film believes that money is everything in life - 'Hennu, Honnu and Mannu is everything' kind of mentality. Her mother thinks girls are no less than boys. She arranges 'Swayamvara' for her daughter to choose a bridegroom. Hero gives more impotence to humanity than money and tries to convince heroine and her mother in his own way. According to Shivrajkumar this film has a good end with a message - `Friendship is valuable'. Word `Rowdy' in the title is not just a literal meaning but an abbreviation too to reflect hero's characteristic. Of course, 'Rowdy Aliya' goes well with the story line as well he says. After this film Saiprakash will initiate his 50th project 'Halli Hero' - a village story based film, which is on hold currently.

(Anand Audio company) is producing this film under the banner of Komal Enterprises. His previous film 'Friends' was a hit film. In this film he is giving a lot of importance to music. He is betting on music. Rowdy Aliya has seven songs scored by seven music directors! This is a record in Kannada film industry though is already been tried in Tamil and Telugu. Koti, Vande Matharam Srinivas, K.Kalyan, Babji Sandeep, Sadhu Kokila, Rajesh Ramnath and Srishaila are the music directors. Film has Anaji Nagaraj's cinematography and dialogues by B.A. Madhu. Ashok, Avinash, Shivaram, Chaya Singh, Ashalatha, Doddanna, Sadhukokila, Umesh etc are among the cast.
