Then Jogi and now Santha!
Then
Jogi and now Santha! Is Shivarajkumar following the formula
route? “No” says the actor! “It’s completely different from
what you have seen in Om or Jogi” said Shivarajkumar during
the launch of his latest film Santa, a film themed on rowdism.
After
a short hiatus, Shivarajkumar is back with a new project for
producer Kanakapura Srinivas and it’s directed by Murali Mohan
of Nagarahaavu fame. It was a fan-fair at Dodda Ganapati temple
(Basavanagudi) where the film kick started recently. According
to Shivarajkumar, Santa has rowdy elements in it but it also
has another dimension which makes it different. “Santa is
a nickname of Santhosh, the lead character in the film. This
story deals with the correlations between his name and the
characteristics of that role. It’s a fresh subject and requires
a lot of visual effects. Making is the crucial part of this
project” he said.
Arthi Chabbria who played the lead role in Aham Premasmi is
one of the female counterparts and search for the second heroine
is on. The super cop of Karnataka, H.T. Sangliyana plays a
pivotal role. Gurukiran scores the music.
From an outlook, it sounds like a villain v/s cop story! Another
interesting trend picking up in Kannada film industry is the
way filmmakers are leveraging the popularity of an individual.
We saw Ravi Belegere playing a pivotal role in Ganda Hendrathi
and now it’s H.T. Sangliyana! Good way of cashing hah!
