  'Shanthi' enters Guinness Record!

Director Baraguru Ramachandrappa A few weeks back we said Sandalwood shining. And its proved yet again literally. Just a day back, film Haseena has won three national awards and actress Tara bagged the Best Actress national award making the whole state feel proud about this remarkable achievement. And now, another news follows this excitement. Baraguru Ramachandrappa's directorial film Shanthi has got into Guinness Book of Records! This one of its kind experimental movie featuring a single character throughout is the first ever Kannada movie to enter into Guinness Book of Records and second feature film in Indian cinema. Produced by Ramesh Yadav, this movie was officially acknowledged by the Guinness World Record Limited on July 05 2005.

We at viggy.com are extremely excited to be part of this winning team. The official website www.shanthi-thefilm.com was developed and promoted by viggy.com and Shanthi was submitted to Guinness World Record almost 10 months back by us on behalf of producer Ramesh Yadav and director Baraguru.

Director Baraguru RamachandrappaAs per the current record, the only narrative films with a single cast member have been 'Yaade' (Hindi -1964) by Sunil Dutt and 'La Derniere Lettre' (French-2002) directed by Frederick Wiseman and now Shanthi (Kannada - 2004) starring Bhavana and directed by Baraguru Ramachandrappa.

Director Baraguru addressing the media this afternoon appreciated the braveness of producer Ramesh Yadav for venturing into such experimental project. At the same time he congratulated the actress Bhavana, music director Hamsalekha, cinematographer Nagaraj Advani and editor Suresh Urs.

We can also recall that the offbeat film Shanthi had grabbed the attention of UNO and Prof. Baraguru received a telephone call from Meera Sur of Dept. of Economics and Social Affairs (UNO Office) after seeing Shanthi website and collaterals developed by viggy.com.

We congratulate the entire team of Shanthi for achieving this astonishing milestone.
