Tayi Illada Tabbali - film review
'Tavarige
Baa Thangi' directed by Sai Prakash was a hit film of the
year 2002. What was the secret behind this? Sentiment! Emotion!
He has become
a proficient in making audience especially women cry. If that
is the success formal, whats wrong in adapting it! The result
is his new film - Tayi Illada Tabbali.
Like the producer Ramesh Yadav says, story for the film was
written to suite the title! Is a story of an orphan girl abused
by her stepmother; later by father-in-law. Like the title
says, Gowri (Radhika) loses mother in her childhood itself
and its her father Basava (Shrinivas Murthy) who strives to
give the love of both father and mother to this girl. He marries
Parvathi (Ashalatha) thinking that she will take care of Gowri.
But this stepmother ill-treats the girl all the way. Finally
she gets married to a rich man Shivakumar (Shivadwaj). But
her father-in-law Nanjappa (Avinash) always had an eye on
her property for which he accepted her as daughter-in-law.
When she sacrifices her property for her stepsister's marriage,
furious Nanjappa send Gowri back to her father. Gowri faces
a tough time with her stepmother and stepsister.
How Gowri overcomes these agitation form rest of the story
with an emotional climax.
For
people who have seen 'Tavarige' can  relate
some scenes as there are many similarities. Radhika has done
a good job. So is Shrinivas Murthy. He steals the show as
a helpless father. Adding to these are the experienced acting
skills of Avinash and Ashalatha. Sadu Kokila sounds cheap
burning his bums with hot water! Sundarnath Suvarna once again
proves his camera skills. Hamsalekha is good with tunes that
suit a village story. So is B.A. Madu's dialogs. They are
effective enough to boost the flow of tears. Director Sai
Prakash has done every thing that is required to make lady
audience cry, which is his success formula. If the film wins,
we can say, Kannada filmdom is not Tabbali.
