'Santhosha' -launch of new Kannada movie directed by M.R. Ramesh

A director turning into an actor or the other way is not a news in Kannada filmdom. But a singer appearing as a hero is something interesting, isn't it? Yes, its singer Rajesh's turn to act in this movie called Santosha. He is acting in this movie as a 'hero' not just as an actor is the specialty. This movie was mounted last week and most of the technicians and cast group is new to Kannada filmdom bringing a fresh breath. Starting from director Ramesh to another hero Siddharth to three heroines to choreographers - all are new to Sandlewood but not to film world. They have seen the film life in Bollywood! Director M.R. Ramesh who is basically from Karnataka holds a diploma in film technology from Mumbai. He stayed there for quite some time and directed many serials and tele-films for Sun Network that are pretty famous too. Now he is back to Bangalore with this new project Santosha along with a bunch of fresh faces and new talents.

Ramesh has written the story and screenplay that is based on Bhuj (Gujarat) - a place that drew the attention of the entire world because of the earthquake disaster destroying many lives in 2001. Now the question is how Santhosha (happiness) is related to Bhuj. As director said, Santhosha is the name of a house where a happy family lives. Whether they live in Bhuj or not will be revealed on the screen. Film will be shot at Bhuj and part of it in Kashmir and remaining part at Bangalore. Ramesh's wife Indumati is producing the film along with another producer M.N. Murthy.

Santhosha has two heroes. One is Rajesh and the other guy is Siddharth who is from Kashmir and is a Kashmiri Pundit. He was born in Kashmir but settled in Mumbai. His uncle Ravikiran is closely associated with Bollywood by working as an associated director for Shyam Benegal. As Ravikirn and Ramesh are good friends, Siddharth is stepping into Kannada film industry through this film. He was into modeling and worked for Raymond, Vimal, Park Avenue, Bombay Dying etc. This enthusiastic young man is expecting Sathosha to be a good movie with good story, music and direction, which can be a turning point for him!

There are three heroines against two heroes. Richa Pallod and Anitha are already selected and one more heroine is yet to be finalized. Ananth Nag has got an important role and his wife Gayathri may act with him. Prayog has scored the music. New choreographers Vittal and Harshal from Mumbai will be introduced to Kannada filmdom who have worked with Saroj Khan. So it's really news of 'Santhosha' (happy) to see a lot of people who hail from here but stayed away and now uniting together to make this film.
