Behaviors and obnoxiousness of a person change as environs change is one of the message in Valmiki Ramayana. Based on this thread, a new Kannada movie 'Valmiki' starring Shivrajkumar is getting ready. Having direction of M.S. Ramesh, this film is produced by Shipla Srinivas. Though the title says Valmiki, is not a mythological flick. M.S. Ramesh known for catchy and sharp dialogs is going to make it a typical commercial movie adapting characteristics of Valmiki to a modern person. The way Valmiki turned into an author of Ramayana because of the circumstances and surroundings, hero of this film too regrets his immoral past and surpasses everyone's expectation becoming a gentleman. Song recording of this film started last week at Ashwini Recording Company.

This movie having Gurukiran's music has two heroines. Selection of female lead is not yet done. Valmiki is the fourth film for director M.S. Ramesh. His earlier film was 'Sriram' starring Shivrajkumar and now its 'Valmiki'! For Shivrajkumar, this is the second film of the year within the span of a month! His latest film Kanchanaganga produced by Jaijadadish was launched during first week of January under the direction of Rajendra Singh Babu. Another film of his 'Sarvabhouma' is yet to release. Producer Shilpa Srinivas was in financial trouble. His last production 'The City' was cleared by sensor board with an 'A' certificate couple of weeks back. It's the goodwill of Shivrajkumar who called the producer and gave him his call sheet to overcome his financial constraints. Success of Valmiki that has good technicians and stars would be a great relief for the producer. Srinivas Murthy, Rangayana Raghu, Srinath, Hema Chowdry, Shobharaj etc are among the supporting crew. Story, screenplay and dialogs for Valmiki are by director M.S. Ramesh and Rajashekhar while editing is by Manohar, stunt by Ram Shetty and Art Direction by Nanjundaswamy.
